Why Coaching with Karl?
- Karl Bastian
By Jackie Gust
If you're looking for a place to grow in both your calling and your confidence as a children's ministry leader—this is it.
I became a children’s ministry director for the first time 11 years ago, and in my very first week on the job, I discovered Kidology. The leader I am today is, in large part, because of the tools, wisdom, and encouragement I’ve received through Karl and Kidology over the years.
As a brand-new leader, I loved that Kidology offered resources that brought spiritual depth to my lessons—without forcing me to start from scratch. I appreciated having someone who could identify my pain points and point me to Jesus as the solution. I respect Karl because of his unwavering commitment to keeping God at the center of everything.
Over time, my relationship with Kidology evolved. I went from needing resources to seeking opportunities to grow as a leader and serve others with excellence. Karl became a trusted voice—offering biblical wisdom and sound advice that helped me become the leader God was calling me to be. He’s in it to build the Kingdom, and I admire that.
When I attended my first breakout session led by Karl, what stood out most wasn’t just the training—it was his heart. His passion for God, His Kingdom, and His people was evident in every word and interaction. Karl has added Kingdom value to my life. He’s taught me how to think about ministry, how to grow leaders, and how to multiply impact. He’s encouraged me, challenged me, and given me the courage to step into things I didn’t feel ready for—always reminding me that God equips those He calls.
Today, I have the honor of calling Karl a true friend in ministry. I never expected Kidology to shape my calling, but it did. And I can say this with 100% confidence:
Whether you're brand new to children's ministry or a seasoned leader, joining this club will be one of the best investments you make—not just for your ministry, but for yourself. You'll receive more than training, resources, and encouragement—you’ll have a coach who genuinely wants to see you thrive in what God has called you to do. You'll grow in ways you never thought possible, I know I have.
