Jesus' final command before leaving earth was to "Go and Make Disciples!" During this unit, your students will discover the joy of sharing their faith with others.
As they learn a simple Gospel message, "Good News for Kids," they will explore each element that Jesus told His followers to take to people everywhere (Matthew 28:18-20).
Lesson 1: Be God's Child
Before children can effectively share their faith, they need to know the Gospel themselves. What better way to make sure your students know the Gospel than to make sure they are saved? This lesson will both explain the Good News of Jesus as well as provide your kids an opportunity to accept Christ as their own Savior and Friend if they have not yet done so. Only then can they truly be ready to invite others to do the same.
Lesson 2: Be Prepared to Share
Jesus has called us to be His "witnesses." That means being ready to express what we have seen, heard, and experienced as opportunities come. This lesson will challenge children to be ready to share their faith when God provides the opportunity. They will learn tools and techniques for explaining the Good News so that they are ready to help others understand both that they need Jesus and that they can ask Him to be their Savior and Friend.
Lesson 3: Be Wise with Words
Even when we aren't explicitly explaining the Good News, nonbelievers are often watching our lives and listening to what we say. There's truth to the saying: "You are the only Bible some people will ever read." This lesson will challenge children to realize that their lives testify for Jesus — they either draw people toward God or push them away. How we live can eternally impact whether or not people come to Jesus!
Lesson 4: Be Bold for God
Once children are saved, equipped to share their faith, and encouraged to model their lives after Christ, the enemy will work to discourage and distract them from telling the Good News. This final lesson will challenge kids to live boldly for God and to actively share their faith with their friends. Everywhere they go, they will realize that they are battling for the hearts and minds of the people they know. Unbelievers are pursuing all kinds of interests that will never satisfy them, but your kids will be bold because they have what the world can never offer. They have what people are truly looking for, because "they have the prize inside!"
